I love Taylor Swift. I used to think her songs were too old for her age. But then I realized we all have a tendency as we grow older to run after our youth; we all want to feel things as strongly as we did when we were younger than we are now, and she’s just unabashedly embracing that. Which really makes her more mature than a lot of us.

Claiming there is no other life in the universe is like scooping up some water, looking at the cup and claiming there are no whales in the ocean.

I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person.

The best way to measure how much you’ve grown isn’t by inches or the number of laps you can now run around the track, or even your grade point average— though those things are important, to be sure. It’s what you’ve done with your time, how you’ve chosen to spend your days, and whom you’ve touched this year. That, to me, is the greatest measure of success.
